His real name is Tommaso di ser Giovanni di Simone Guidi Cassai. He was an Italian painter, he was an important artists during the early Renaissance. The name Masaccio means 'big Tommaso'( which means"ugly Tom" in Italian ) . He was born in Castel San Giovanni di Valdarno, near Arezzo and Florence ( in Iatly) . To people he was a weird ,awkward man who didnt care on little bit about his outside appearance. His hair and beard were long and very un organized. Usally he would wear the same shirt and and pants and everthing else. Even if there were food stains or even paint, this could happen for like moths. His life was sad, hard and extrmely full of adventure. His most imprtant first and important work started in 1423, it was the frescoes on the walls of the Brancacci Chapel of the Santa Maria del Carmine (Florence).He was a big influence on many artists. surface, and light in all his works.He was one of the first to use scientific perspective in his painting. His talent was showing peoples moods and his best work was done in groups. Though right now most oof his work has been destroyed. At the age of 30, he was captured by other artist who didn't like him for all his wonderful amazin work. He died alone ,sad, with no money,and never knew how a big impact all of his work would have back then and even now in the history of Art .
